PromptPerfect vs VantagePrompt: What Maps, What Does Not
VantagePrompt covers the core of what PromptPerfect did for interactive use: it turns a rough prompt into a structured one for text and image models, with batch runs, reusable templates and a 0-100 quality score. It has no public API, no built-in chat assistant, and nothing that corresponds to PromptPerfect Arena or Agents. Move if you used PromptPerfect in a browser or for a prompt library; do not move if you called it from code.
PromptPerfect is no longer available after 1 September 2026, so this is not a choice between two live products. It is a check on how much of what you used carries over. VantagePrompt publishes this page and is one of the two products compared, so the losses are listed as plainly as the gains.

Who should move to VantagePrompt, and who should not?
- Move if you used PromptPerfect interactively: paste a rough prompt, get a structured one back. That is the core of VantagePrompt.
- Move if the part you valued was a prompt library you reused. VantagePrompt keeps history, collections and templates with variables.
- Move if you ran many prompts through it. VantagePrompt has batch runs of 2 to 20 prompts.
- Do not move if you called PromptPerfect from code. VantagePrompt has no public API. The PromptPerfect alternatives guide covers options that expose one.
- Do not move if the built-in chat assistant was the point. VantagePrompt returns the optimized prompt; it does not run it for you.
PromptPerfect facts on this page come from its own site: the feature descriptions as read on 20 September 2026, and the plan prices as archived on 1 August 2026, since the live landing page no longer displays them. Where the site says nothing, this page says nothing.
How do PromptPerfect features map to VantagePrompt?
| PromptPerfect | VantagePrompt |
|---|---|
| Prompt optimization with settings for maximum prompt length and number of iterations | One optimization pass per run, with a framework chosen for text use cases. Missing: an iteration-count or length setting. |
| Text models named on the site: GPT-4, Claude, Llama | You choose which model performs the optimization from a wide catalogue, with a price cap and provider controls, plus fallback models on Plus and above. Missing: the output is a general structured prompt, not one tuned to a single target model. |
| Image models named on the site: Stable Diffusion, Midjourney | An image use case with tool selectors, including Midjourney, DALL-E 3, Stable Diffusion and Flux. Audio and video use cases as well. Nothing missing for image prompts. |
| Prompt as a service: deploy prompts as API services, and an API for integrations | No equivalent. VantagePrompt has no public API. |
| Chat: an assistant chatbot for producing content and solving tasks | No equivalent. VantagePrompt returns the optimized prompt and does not execute it. |
| Arena: compare several models on the same prompt | No equivalent. Each run returns a single optimized prompt; there is no side-by-side comparison of models. |
| Agents: design custom agents and simulate them collaborating or competing | No equivalent. VantagePrompt is not an agent framework. |
| Export or delete your data at any time | History can be exported as CSV or JSON and deleted. Zero data retention can be set per request or as an account default on Pro and above. Missing: an importer for PromptPerfect exports. |
What else does VantagePrompt do?
- Batch runs. A single submission takes 2 to 20 prompts.
- A 0-100 quality score on each run. Free-plan runs left on automatic model selection use a lighter scoring pass, so compare scores like for like.
- Reusable templates with variables, so a recurring prompt stays consistent instead of being retyped.
- Routing controls: a price cap per request and provider allow and deny lists, plus fallback models on Plus and above.
What do you give up by moving?
- The API. Anything that called PromptPerfect from code has to be rebuilt around something else.
- The chat assistant. You get a prompt back, then run it yourself in the model of your choice.
- Arena and Agents. Arena compared several models on one prompt, and Agents simulated agents working together or against each other. VantagePrompt has neither.
- Long inputs. Each prompt is limited to 3,000 characters.
- Model choice on the free plan. It is limited to the cheaper economy models.
- Some controls need a paid plan. Zero data retention requires Pro, and fallback models require Plus.
How do you move your prompts across?
There is no importer. VantagePrompt can import its own template JSON format, not PromptPerfect exports, so the move is manual.
- Export from PromptPerfect first and keep a copy outside the tool. The PromptPerfect alternatives guide covers the export step and the deletion date.
- Paste each prompt into VantagePrompt with the use case set. For a long list, use a batch of up to 20.
- Turn any prompt you reuse into a template with variables, so it survives the next tool change.
- Note the target model beside each prompt. A prompt without its model is only half a prompt.
How does pricing compare?
PromptPerfect is unavailable after 1 September 2026, so its prices are history. As archived on 1 August 2026, it listed a free Standard plan, Pro at $19.99 a month, Pro Max at $99.99 a month, and an Enterprise plan with no listed price. The two are not like for like: VantagePrompt bills in credits tied to model cost. Its plans, as of 20 September 2026:
| Plan | Price/mo | Credits/mo |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 25 |
| Starter | $3 | 600 |
| Plus | $5 | 1,200 |
| Pro | $10 | 2,800 |
| Business | $15 per seat | 2,000 per seat |
Paid plans are not available in every country, and the pricing page lists the current exceptions. Check it before planning around a paid tier.
Frequently asked questions
- Is VantagePrompt a good replacement for PromptPerfect?
- For interactive use, yes: it turns a rough prompt into a structured one, scores it, and keeps a library of templates. For anything that depended on PromptPerfect API, its chat assistant, or its Arena and Agents features, no. Those have no VantagePrompt equivalent.
- Does VantagePrompt have an API?
- No. VantagePrompt has no public API, so it cannot be called from your own code. If that is how you used PromptPerfect, you need a different tool for that part.
- Can I import my PromptPerfect prompts into VantagePrompt?
- Not automatically. VantagePrompt imports its own template JSON format, not PromptPerfect exports. Paste each prompt in, or use a batch, then turn the ones you reuse into templates with variables.
- Is VantagePrompt free?
- There is a free plan with 25 credits a month, limited to the cheaper economy models. Paid plans start at $3 a month, and they are not available in every country.
- What did PromptPerfect offer that VantagePrompt does not?
- According to the PromptPerfect site: an API and prompt deployment as a service, a built-in chat assistant, Arena for comparing models on one prompt, and Agents for simulating agents. VantagePrompt has none of these.
